Sooronbai Jeenbekov considers CIS countries as most educated part of planet

«Following the political processes, the common educational space of CIS also collapsed,» the President of Kyrgyzstan said today at the opening of the 5th Congress of Teachers and Educators of CIS Countries.

According to him, the Soviet education system was adequate to the needs of the then society and quite successfully met the needs of the economy, social life, government and defense.

«We all together represented a very competitive education system in the world. Our general educational space allowed us to adopt successful practices from each other. There were common platforms, all-Union congresses and meetings where teachers exchanged their experience. There were all-union centers of professional development. The best techniques developed in one union republic were spread in other republics,» recalled Sooronbai Jeenbekov.

But much has changed since then. Market relations entered the life, and the labor market has changed dramatically. New life demanded a new education system.

«I think that the CIS countries still represent the most educated part of our planet. However, time inexorably dictates new requirements. I believe that these requirements apply to all CIS countries, because the intellectualization of any activity in any modern country has become a general trend. Today, many countries in the world are in search for a modern education model. We need to have a common educational space. This will help the overall development of our countries,» the head of state summed up.
