The situation on the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will be discussed at a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The deputy Irina Karamushkina stated this today at the session of the Parliament.
She told that she recently returned from the regular session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. Irina Karamushkina drew attention of deputies from Tajikistan to problems on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
«We are the members of the general Collective Security Treaty. But we have incidents at the border. How can we protect each other and be safe, if this happens on the internal border? As a result, an agreement was reached that the next meeting of the Assembly will be devoted to the issue of the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan,» Irina Karamushkina said.
Tajik servicemen fired warning shots in Maksat area of Lyailyak district of Batken region on June 4 at around 5.10 pm. Later, Kyrgyz border guards detained them. The next day, the servicemen were released.
