A conflict with the use of weapons occurred on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the border between the border guards of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic informed 24.kg news agency.
On June 4, at about 5.10 pm, Tajik servicemen fired off warning shots into the air in " Football field" area in Maksat area, Lyailyak district of Batken region.
«There is a special line of conduct of border guards at the border. Tajik soldiers violated it. They kicked the Kyrgyz out « Football field» area, where the latter organized spontaneous trade. The conflict between the Kyrgyzstanis and border guards of the Republic of Tajikistan was resolved by the military personnel of the Kyrgyz Republic,» the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said.
The service noted that the Kyrgyz border guards warned that the issues were not resolve this way. When the Tajik servicemen were told that they were illegally staying in an undemarcated border area, the Tajik border guards behaved aggressively, provoking a fight.
«They fired off warning shots and were detained by the border detachment of Kyrgyzstan,» the State Border Service reported.
