Over 45,000 citizens to be able to vote in local elections on May 13

The list of voters in the forthcoming elections of deputies of local councils includes more than 45,000 people. The State Registration Service reported.

To identify voters, the SRS will involve 127 operators, who will work using 82 identification kits at 27 polling stations. As of today, all sets of equipment have been delivered to the districts.

Elections to local councils will be held, using biometric data of fingerprints and biometric facial recognition. A voter has the right to vote only upon presentation of a passport of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic of 2004 (ID card) or 2017 (eID card) year of issue and compulsory passage of biometric registration.

Following the decree of the President, elections of deputies to the following local councils are scheduled for May 13: Kok-Art rural council of Suzak district, Kara-Dzhigach rural council of Aksy district, Toktogul town council of Jalal-Abad region, Kazybek rural council of At-Bashi district of Naryn region, Toloykon rural council of Kara-Suu district, Osh region and Sokuluk rural council of Chui region.
