Repeat elections: CEC announces official voting results

The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan (CEC) summed up the voting results in the Leninsky single-mandate constituency No. 26.

The results were summed up on the basis of protocols on voting results received from 51 precinct election commissions. By summing up the data contained in them, a summary table was formed and the voting results in the constituency were established.

The received applications were considered and decisions were made in accordance with the electoral legislation.

The elections were recognized as valid. The results for none of the polling stations were cancelled.

A businessman, son of ex-deputy of Parliament Karganbek Samakov, Kubanychbek Samakov, won the majority of votes. At least 26.14 percent of voters voted for him. Almaz Askar uulu overcame the five percent threshold with a result of 13.04 percent, Zhamalbek Yrsaliev — 8.7 percent, Ruslanbek Tagaev — 18.99 percent.

At least 2.83 percent of citizens voted for none of the above.

The CEC will announce the official results by September 24.

Earlier, the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan (CEC) recognized the results of the snap elections of deputy of Parliament in Leninsky district, held on May 28, invalid, as the votes cast for Damira Niyazalieva were canceled. She won 35.86 percent of the votes in the election, which is more than a third.
