Gold jewelry for $ 210,000 confiscated in Uzbekistan at border with Kyrgyzstan

Employees of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan confiscated gold items worth about $ 210,000 at the border with Kyrgyzstan. The Uzbek media reported with reference to the press center of the State Security Service.

According to him, gold jewelry with a total weight of 8.83 kilograms was confiscated in Namangan region of Uzbekistan at the border with Kyrgyzstan.

Investigative measures to identify persons involved in smuggling are being carried out.

Law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan have repeatedly reported about confiscation of smuggled goods at the border with Kyrgyzstan. So, in January, a resident of Fergana region was detained on suspicion of attempt to smuggle gold bars weighing about five kilograms and a total cost of $ 195,000.
