National Bank conducts 2nd intervention for month, but dollar still rising

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan held the second currency intervention in November. But the dollar continues to grow in price.

The bank again sold dollars. In total, $ 2.5 million were sold with calculations on the date of the transaction and $ 600,000 — with calculations other than the date of the transaction. Thus, in November the National Bank has sold already $ 22,550 million.

However, the intervention did not yield any results. Over the weekend, the dollar rose by other 10 tyiyn. Today, commercial banks and exchange offices of the capital buy the dollar for 69.6-69.7 soms, and sell — for 69.9 soms.

The nominal rate is 69,7254 soms (an increase of 0.18 percent). Thus, over the week, the US currency grew in price by 90 tyiyns.
