Kyrgyzstan is on the fifth place in terms of the number of migrants in Russia in 2016. Such data announced in the report of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Civil Service «2016: The socio-economic situation of the population — the ongoing crisis or a new reality?»
The document notes that last year about 9.6–10.4 million people came to Russia. Most of them (85 percent or 8.2 million people) are residents of the CIS countries. The number of visitors decreased by 8 percent compared to 2014 and by 5 percent compared to 2015.
In the last three years, the average annual number of citizens arriving from Uzbekistan decreased by 30 percent, from Tajikistan by 10. And the number of citizens of the EEU countries (including Kyrgyzstan), on the contrary, has increased.
The number of labor migrants, according to experts of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, during the year amounted to 3.6–4 million people. At the same time, 95–96 percent of them are citizens of the CIS. Of the countries of Central Asia arrived 66 percent of labor migrants, from Ukraine — 9, from Armenia — 7, from Moldova — 6 percent. From far abroad, no more than 170,000 labor migrants have come to work in the Russian Federation.
