The former fiancé of the president’s niece Lyazzat Nurkozhoeva was arrested until August 3. The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek informed 24.kg news agency.
Aftandil Sabyrbekov is accused under Article 282, Part 3, «Illegal manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues for the purpose of sale on a large scale» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Such a crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term from 8 to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Aftandil Sabyrbekov was detained on suspicion of drug distribution. He was placed in a pre-trial detention center. He became known after he proposed to the niece of President Sadyr Japarov on a rented helicopter.
