President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov addressed participants of the meeting of the Council for Relations with Compatriots Abroad. His address was read by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov.
The head of state noted that all resources and means are important for the development of the country, including the contribution of every citizen. Today, the state’s efforts are aimed at creating conditions for the development of small and medium-sized businesses. The transport infrastructure is being restored, factories and large enterprises are being put into operation. Small hydroelectric power plants are being actively built. Investors are building solar and wind power plants. Logistics centers, multifunctional mega-complexes, strategic transit routes, medical centers and social facilities, including schools, are being opened.
«We started implementation of major national projects: the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway, which will increase the transit potential of the republic, and Kambar-Ata 1 hydroelectric power station, which will cover our growing needs for electricity. Our country is on the path to sustainable development,» the address says.
Kyrgyzstan needs talented and creative people, advanced experience, new knowledge and competencies, and enterprising young personnel.
«Cooperation with migrants has reached a new level. Most of our compatriots settled in new countries, acquired significant life and professional experience and capital, and strong diasporas emerged.
We are sincerely pleased with the success of our compatriots. You did not break ties with your homeland, but began to actively participate in the economic life of the country. I consider each of you an ambassador of our country. I believe that you will learn new technologies, gain new knowledge, strong connections, study the culture of other countries and bring all this to your homeland. Compatriots who work and live in different parts of the world, even from there, make a huge contribution to Kyrgyzstan,» Sadyr Japarov said.
I firmly adhere to my position that remittances from labor migrants should not be the main source of income for the population, and external migration cannot be a guarantee of people’s well-being.

The President is sure that the state is obliged to find and implement alternative ways to resolve development issues. The investment attractiveness of the country and the creation of conditions for the implementation of entrepreneurial initiatives of the population should become a determining element of the economic development model.
