Shooting at border: Houses damaged in Dostuk village

As a result of a mortar shelling by Tajikistan, several houses were damaged in Dostuk village, Leilek district of Kyrgyzstan. Head of the village Sulaiman Ergeshov told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the situation is stable. After the ceasefire, the shelling did not repeat.

«Our village was under fire. There is no exact data yet, at least two houses were damaged. It happened not for the first time, the villagers are scared. Yesterday, during the evacuation, several elderly people and children felt unwell, lost consciousness,» Sulaiman Ergeshov said.

Neither the residents themselves, nor their houses or any objects were damaged by the shooting in Maksat village. According to the head of the village, Saparali Adinaev, people began to return home.

Another shootout occurred at night on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The border guards of the Republic of Tajikistan opened fire on the servicemen of the Kyrgyz Republic at about 9.17 p.m. during a meeting of border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, who arrived at the scene of the incident as a reinforcement. After midnight, the parties agreed to withdraw additional forces to the points of their permanent deployment.
