The Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan plans to develop and implement the concept of «e-museum» (electronic museum) this year. The head of the ministry Azamat Zhamankulov announced at a press conference.
According to him, the ministry plans to fully digitize all exhibits and create an electronic catalog of the museums.
Besides, the Ministry of Culture is going to take on its balance the Alykul Osmonov and Mukhtar Auezov museums in Issyk-Kul region, develop a concept of modernization of Manas-Ordo national complex and reconstruction of historical-ethnographical museum Sulaiman-Too, Ata-Beyit memorial complex and build a Mahmud Kashgari museum in Issyk-Kul region.
«In addition, we will work on the modernization and infrastructural renovation of the history and local history museum in Karakol. As you know, Karakol became the cultural capital of the CIS this year, so a number of activities are planned in the regional center,» Azamat Zhamankulov added.
He noted that at present, there are 118 museums in Kyrgyzstan, which have been visited by more than 383,000 people last year.
