More than 50 investigations conducted in Kyrgyzstan’s hospitals in 2021

At least 52 special investigations were conducted in the health care organizations following requests from the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes, State Committee for National Security, as well as on complaints and reports of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2021. Bek Nogoibaev, head of the Internal Audit Department of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic told at the press conference today.

According to him, it was planned to conduct an audit in 78 healthcare organizations, but it was conducted in 65 medical institutions only.

Based on the results of audits during 11 months of 2021, materials on 17 healthcare organizations were submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office, State Committee for National Security and State Service for Combating Economic Crimes for further investigation.

The total amount of financial violations established as a result of the audits amounted to 162,110 million soms.

Including:

  • Procurement of goods and services without tender and price monitoring — 98,497.2 million soms;
  • Underpayment for paid services — 3,527.5 million soms;
  • Unjustified writing-off of cash and inventory items — 3,171.5 million soms
  • Unjustified accrual and payment of salaries and deductions to Social Fund — 17,157.5 million soms;
  • Unjustified accrual and payment of compensations — 5,478.4 million soms;
  • Unjustified payment of benefits — 133,900 soms;
  • Misappropriation of budget and special funds — 1,481 million soms;
  • Expired drugs — 4,569.1 million soms and other violations.
