Border conflict. Police of 2 countries to jointly search for perpetrators

Negotiations took place between the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

According to the ministry, Kashkar Dzhunushaliev and Ramazon Rahimzoda discussed issues of resolving the situation on Kyrgyzstan — Tajikistan border and decided to ensure public safety in the border areas.

«As a part of the talks, the heads of ministries agreed to set up a bilateral operational investigative team to conduct an objective investigation of the incident at the border. In addition, both sides intend to create round-the-clock patrol teams from among the policemen of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as provide assistance to citizens of border areas of Batken and Sughd regions. Both ministers also agreed to identify the perpetrators and take an objective decision during joint operational-investigative measures,» the Interior Ministry says.

The ministry noted that employees of the security forces of both countries and local governments conduct explanatory work aimed at stabilizing the situation in the border areas.

Recall, a conflict occurred on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border in Ak-Sai village of Batken region on March 13. According to preliminary data, citizens of Tajikistan wanted to hinder construction of Ak-Sai — Tamdyk road. Kyrgyz border guards prevented this. People started throwing stones at each other. There are injured citizens of the two states.
