Economic growth of Kyrgyzstan to be lowest in Central Asia

At the end of 2018, GDP growth in Kyrgyzstan will be the lowest in the countries of Central Asia. Forecast of the International Monetary Fund says.

IMF report for October notes that by the end of 2018, Kyrgyzstan’s GDP growth will be 2.8 percent. The nearest neighbors have better indicators: Kazakhstan’s GDP will grow by 3.7 percent, in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan — by 5 percent, and Turkmenistan — by 6.2 percent.

The situation will change slightly in 2019. Kazakhstan’s GDP will grow least of all — by 3.1 percent. The republic is followed by Kyrgyzstan (4.5 percent), Uzbekistan and Tajikistan (5 percent each), and Turkmenistan (6.2 percent).
