The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan believes that FETO terrorist organization has a strong position in Kyrgyzstan. He told this to Turkish journalists in the plane, while returning from the Kyrgyz Republic. Sabah newspaper reported.
«Unfortunately, FETO is functioning at a serious level in Kyrgyzstan. They have penetrated into the state institutions, from military structures to the judiciary. They have really managed to intimidate politicians. We explained to the government of Kyrgyzstan that FETO was dangerous not only for Turkey, but for any country in which it operates. Educational activities of this group should be immediately stopped,» he stressed.
The President of Turkey noted that FETO was active in 160 countries of the world.
According to Recep Erdogan, Turkey «will continue to report in the international arena its concerns about the actions of FETO and warn other countries about it.»
On July 15, 2016, a group of soldiers and officers of the Turkish Armed Forces made an attempt to overthrow and seize the President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The main confrontation unfolded in Istanbul and Ankara, 250 people were killed, not including coupists, more than 2,000 were injured. Ankara accuses FETO of organizing the attempted coup.
