Famous Turkish chef and restaurateur Burak Ozdemir came to Bishkek. He takes part in the social charity project «Ramazan Tent», which is held annually in Kyrgyzstan.
«Ramazan Tent» is a charity project, which we have been holding for nine years. In the month of Ramadan, we invite needy families, orphans to iftar every day, we try to give them a festive mood and organize cultural programs. They can’t even go to a restaurant, but in the month of Ramadan we have to pay special attention and help them," said Eliana-Maryam Satarova, head of Al-Umma Foundation.
Burak Ozdemir told that he came to Kyrgyzstan for the first time at the invitation of Al-Umma Foundation. Turkey and Kyrgyzstan are brotherly countries and he feels at home.
Burak Ozdemir added that he does not have a charitable foundation. He provides assistance from his own funds. Also, according to him, he has been involved in such social programs since he was 16 years old and has organized charity projects in such countries as: Palestine, Egypt, Uzbekistan, India, Syria, Morocco, African countries and others.
The project «Ramazan Tent» started yesterday, March 18, in one of the restaurants in Bishkek. A charitable ooz achar was organized for vulnerable people. Burak Ozdemir cooked meat, cut it himself and served it to the guests.
