The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev plans to visit Kyrgyzstan in September 2018. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
It is noted that the head of Uzbekistan will take part in the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States. The heads of the foreign policy departments of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev and the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov talked on the sidelines of the consultative meeting of the foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries.
The parties told each other about the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of official visit of the President Sooronbai Jeenbekov to Uzbekistan in December 2017. The issue of exchange of the visits was also discussed, in particular, the arrival of Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Kyrgyzstan.
The summit is scheduled for September 3 and will be held in Cholpon-Ata on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. The Turkic Council, which includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, is an international organization uniting modern Turkic states. Details of the program of Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit and possible meetings with the leadership of the country has not been reported.
