30 attorneys ready to help illegal migrants from Kyrgyzstan working in Korea

It is planned to open a center for providing free legal assistance to Kyrgyz migrants in Korea. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Korea Kylychbek Sultan informed 24.kg news agency.

According to the diplomatic mission, the center will have 30 certified Korean lawyers. Their task is to assist and consult migrants not only in case of violation of rights, but also on various labor problems.

This issue was discussed at a meeting of Kylychbek Sultan with the acting Secretary of the Forum on Public Contribution of the National Assembly of Korea Kim Song Chol.

Kim Song Chol informed that in the near future the Korean delegation would visit the Kyrgyz Republic. The delegates intend to meet with representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Migration Service of the Kyrgyz Republic to discuss strengthening cooperation in education and labor migration.

Earlier, Kylychbek Sultan informed journalists that one third of Kyrgyzstanis in South Korea worked illegally. According to him, because of illegal migrants from Kyrgyzstan, the procedure of issuing visas for our citizens to South Korea was made more complex. «About 4,000 Kyrgyz citizens work in South Korea. One third of them stay illegally in this country. Many of our citizens even can not get a visa for treatment. Therefore, it is necessary for the Kyrgyzstanis to come to the territory of Korea only by legal means. Dozens of thousands of our compatriots should not suffer because of several illegal migrants. We intend to work in this direction,» Kylychbek Sultan told.
