Border guards stopped 15.5 tons of dill and parsley from Kyrgyzstan in Chelyabinsk region of Russia. Russian media reported with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor.
As noted, although Kyrgyzstan was indicated as producer country in the accompanying documents, the inspectors found out that the product was manufactured and purchased in Iran. Thus, the cargo had no phytosanitary certificate of the country of departure, which is a gross violation of plant quarantine and international legislation.
The carrier was brought to administrative responsibility. The cargo was arrested until obtaining of a phytosanitary certificate.
