Kyrgyzstan's entrepreneurs intend to apply to EEU court because of border issues

Entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan intend to apply to the court of the Eurasian Economic Union for compensation of losses to the affected business entities. This is stated in the draft resolution of the extraordinary meeting of the National Business Club (NBC).

In order to provide real assistance to honest entrepreneurs affected by the current situation on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, the NBC suggests the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to form a joint working group to monitor and assess the losses suffered by business entities and develop mechanisms to assist them.

It is planned that the formed group will work out a damage assessment mechanism by November 20, draft regulatory legal acts on the exemption of the affected businessmen of payment of tax and social deductions and other financial obligations for a certain period, and prepare documents for applying to EEU court.

In addition, it is planned to apply to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) for the establishment of an independent monitoring commission to monitor the situation at the checkpoints of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

Recall, since October 10, Kazakhstan has strengthened control on the sections of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz and Kazakh-Russian border. There are queues of heavy trucks moving to Kyrgyzstan at the checkpoints.
