Kazakh Economy Minister believes-Kyrgyzstan's complaints to EEC unreasonable

Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Timur Suleimenov asked not to politicize the situation on Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan border. Tengrinews.kz reported.

According to its information, Timur Suleimenov, commenting on Kyrgyzstan’s appeal to the Eurasian Economic Commission, said that the charges are unfounded. In his opinion, Kazakhstan operates within the framework of the domestic legislation and at the same time complies with all EEU obligations.

Any party has the right to apply to the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to sit down and talk. I would like to note at once that the decision on the intergovernmental council, the council of the commission, is taken exclusively by consensus. That is, if one of the parties does not agree with the proposed solutions, they are not accepted. This must be born in mind.

Timur Suleimenov

Recall, yesterday it became known that the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan sent a letter to the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan on the need to notify the Republic of Kazakhstan of compliance with the provisions of EEU Agreement dated May 29, 2014 and consideration of this issue at the next meeting of EEC Board.

The Government of Kyrgyzstan believes that the additional control introduced by Kazakhstan at all checkpoints contradicts the main principles and objectives of EEU Treaty and jeopardizes the achievement of the goals of the Eurasian economic integration.

Since October 10, there is a large accumulation of trucks and long lines of pedestrians at all checkpoints of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border due to strengthened inspection by Kazakhstan.
