Free trade with India to ensure GDP growth in EEU countries to $ 2.7 billion

In the long term, the total GDP growth of the countries of the EEU in the conclusion of a free trade agreement with India could reach $ 2.7 billion, the Eurasian Economic Commission reported.

The leaders of the EEU and India states decided at the end of 2016 to start negotiations on concluding an agreement on a free trade zone.

A joint statement on the beginning of negotiations was signed in June this year in the fields of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

An expert analysis of the expediency of concluding a free trade agreement showed that the total GDP growth of the EEU countries could reach $ 1.4 billion in the short term, and in the long term — $ 2.7 billion.
