Debts of Kyrgyzstan to Russia written off

All debts of Kyrgyzstan to Russia are written off, the Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev announced.

According to him, following the talks of Finance Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev and Russia Anton Siluanov signed a protocol on one-time write-off of Kyrgyzstan's debt of $ 240 million.

The debt of Kyrgyzstan to Russia from gaining independence and until 2012 was $ 488.9 million.

«In 2013, $ 188.9 million was written off. A repayment of $ 300 million debt was allowed in instalments. For 2016–2017, $ 60 million was written off. And we still had $ 240 million. Today, this amount is written off," Adylbek Kasymaliev commented.

The protocol on writing off the debt will come into force after ratification by the State Duma of Russia.
