MFA of Kyrgyzstan dissatisfied with ban on work in Russia for drivers

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan is dissatisfied with the ban on the work in Russia for drivers — migrants who do not have driving licenses, issued in the Russian Federation.

The Kyrgyz side raised the issue of the ban from June 1 on driving a vehicle in Russia on the basis of driving licenses issued in Kyrgyzstan when carrying out entrepreneurial and labor activities.

In the opinion of the diplomats of Kyrgyzstan, this restriction should not be applied to citizens of EEU countries, since it contradicts the basic principles of the union.

The Russian side believes that the issue should be considered within the framework of EEU by concluding a separate agreement. It was noted that law-abiding foreign citizens had the opportunity to exchange driving licensed during the period of the suspension of the restriction since 2013.

To get Russian driving licenses, the law requires drivers to pass three mandatory exams — one theoretical and two practical (on the automobile track and in urban traffic).
