Inspectors of the regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan conducted an inspection of the construction of a 6.1-kilometer road from Zagara-2 section of Osh forestry to Kichi-Kara-Kol pass.
According to the ministry, the reconstruction is being carried out by investors of Kyrgyzkomur state enterprise. The inspection showed that the work was carried out without conducting a mandatory environmental impact assessment. The roadway partially passes through pastures and glaciers.
The Ministry of Natural Resources filed a lawsuit against the contractor — Spetstekhnika i Arenda LLC, for 939,200 soms. Another lawsuit was filed for 3,645 million soms for violation of 2.1 kilometers of pasture boundaries.
Inspectors discovered construction of an additional 1.5-kilometer section of the road on the territory of Alai forestry. A lawsuit was also filed on this fact for violation of land use rules.
