Kiev cancels second "peace summit" planned for November

Kiev has cancelled the second «peace summit» planned for November. Advisor to the head of the presidential office of Ukraine Daria Zarivna told Telegraph media outlet that the second international summit on the peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict would not take place in November.

«However, everything for its preparation should already be ready. So far, thematical conferences are being held on each provision of the formula, which end with the adoption of a communiqué. The main provisions of these communiqués will form the basis for the upcoming peace plan of the second summit,» she said.

The conferences will be held during this month, the last one will take place on October 30-31 in Canada and will touch on humanitarian issues — the release of prisoners of war and the return of children, she said. A new date for the summit will be set after the end of the conferences.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry ruled out participation in the event, stating that other potential participants are ignoring alternative peace proposals. The first «peace summit» was held in June in Switzerland, Russia was not invited to it.
