The International Energy Investment Forum, which began on June 10 in Vienna (Austria), ended with the creation of the Coordination Donor Committee for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The World Bank, OPEC Fund, Asian Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Islamic Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and others were the first to join the Coordination Donor Committee.
As noted, the first session of the Committee should be held in the fall of 2024.
In addition, a number of documents were signed at the forum:
- Interdepartmental agreement on cooperation on Kambarata HPP-1 project between the Ministries of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan;
- Memorandum of Understanding on «Support for strengthening the power grid of the Kyrgyz Republic» to finance the project «Kemin-Balykchy 500 kilowatt Power Transmission Line»;
- Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Finance Corporation on the second phase of the solar energy development project;
- Agreement on financing the projects «Modernization of Dolinka substation» and «Reconstruction of Rechnaya substation»;
- Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation in the implementation of investment projects in the energy sector between the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the China International Engineering Consulting Corp, an energy consulting group.
«Summarizing the results of the forum, I can confidently say that we have made significant progress in establishing contacts and a common understanding of further actions. I am sure that the Coordination Donor Committee will be a continuation of actions and a «coordination of stances» on the implementation of the national project — the construction of Kambarata HPP-1,» the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, said.
