A close relative of the ex-Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan M.U.D was put on the wanted list in connection with laundering of money of the crime boss Kamchybek Asanbek (Kamchi Kolbaev). The press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to the state committee, the man, being aware of criminal activities of the crime boss and his receipt of funds from racketeering, extortion from business entities, has been actively doing business with representatives of the organized crime group since 2018.
«In particular, M.U.D. owned Flamingo Bay restaurant on the territory of Kaganat resort in Issyk-Kul region and White nightclub in Cholpon-Ata together with Kamchi Kolbaev and also planned to open an elite nightclub on the third floor of Ordo shopping and entertainment complex, owned by the crime boss, where funds have already been invested,» the state committee noted.
The press center of the SCNS added that M.U.D. owns a management company in the restaurant business, which serves more than 11 elite establishments in Bishkek: Asman, Social Coffee, Urban, Sushi Room, Red cow, Cakes/bubbles, My shisha, Aroma, Testo Mesto. Part of the proceeds was used to finance the organized crime group.
«At the same time, M.U.D. owns Aiza Hospitality firm, which manages five establishments of SAYA Brasserie restaurant chain: MURA, Eva Beach Restaurant, Patriki, Daily Huqqa and Milky Jar, located in the elite Palm Jumeirah area of Dubai (UAE), as well as five restaurants of Social Group Almaty: Eva Terrace, Urban, Local, Daily Coffee and Mongol Bar, located in Almaty (Kazakhstan),» the state committee informed.
The SCNS said that in order to conceal the real amount of revenue, affiliates were registered as owners of the property of M.U.D. and his close relatives. More than 180 land plots have been detected in Chui region alone, as well as cottages in Kaganat recreation center, owned by Kamchi Kolbaev.
On January 17, M.U.D. was charged in absentia with committing a crime under Article 261 «Participation in an organized group to commit crimes» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, he was put on the wanted list.
The head of Mairam Group LLC and Social Coffee is Murat Daniyarovich Usenov, the son of ex-Prime Minister Daniyar Usenov, who fled the country.
