Akylbek Japarov calls on CIS countries to create new transport corridors

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan called on the CIS member countries to more actively develop existing transport routes and open new ones. Akylbek Japarov stated this in Moscow at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth member countries, TASS reports.

«It is necessary to minimize barriers and checks at the border of our countries, develop existing and form new transport corridors,» he said.

According to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, these measures will, among other things, «expand economic integration» in the CIS space, and will also help «create conditions for expanding trade» and intensify the exchange of services.

In addition, Akylbek Japarov suggested the organization’s partners coordinate their actions more widely in order to «reduce dependence on imports.»

In his opinion, 2023 in the CIS was «eventful in terms of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.» This was largely due to the announcement of the current year as the Year of the Russian Language in the Commonwealth.

«The Russian language is one of the main foundations for interaction between our countries and peoples,» he noted.

Akylbek Japarov recalled the signing in Bishkek in the fall of this year of the decision of the CIS states on the creation of an international organization for the development of the Russian language.
