President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov will take part in the regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and an informal meeting of the leaders of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States in St. Petersburg (Russia) on December 25-26. The head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Executive Office of the President, Muratbek Azymbakiev, told.
During the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the presidents of the countries will consider issues necessary for the further activities of the union. In particular, the members of the Board of the commission and the court of the EAEU, the main directions of the union’s international activities for 2024, and the guidelines for the macroeconomic policy of the association for 2024-2025 will be approved. They will consider the tasks and key directions for the further development of integration processes within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030 and 2045.
«During the meeting, an agreement on the EAEU free trade zone with Iran is expected to be signed. At an informal meeting of the leaders of the CIS member states, the results of interaction in 2023 will be summed up, the main tasks for the future will be determined, and views will be exchanged on current international and regional topics. Kyrgyzstan held the presidency of the Commonwealth this year,» Muratbek Azymbakiev said.
