Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to the United States and Canada Baktybek Amanbaev met with the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central and South Asian Affairs John Pommersheim. The Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
It is noted that the main topic of the meeting was the strengthening of cooperation and work on new projects. Baktybek Amanbaev told about the changes that have occurred in the country over the past three years. He paid special attention to the projects initiated by President Sadyr Japarov.
The diplomat appealed to the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State with a request to speed up the implementation of previously reached agreements to increase the term of tourist visas for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to 10 years.
John Pommersheim promised to speed up the process. He emphasized that his colleagues from the U.S. Department of State are already dealing with this issue.
Earlier, the issue of increasing the term of visas to America was discussed by the deputies of the Parliament Akylbek Tumonbaev, Balbak Tulobaev, Karim Khandzheza and Emil Toktoshev at a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador Lesslie Viguerie.
