More than 20 bus drivers fired in Bishkek for embezzlement

Raids on public transport continue in Bishkek to detect violations by drivers in order to ensure comfortable transportation of passengers, as well as the implementation of the plan for a complete transition to a cashless payment system. The press service of the City Hall reported.

These measures are taken based on the results of on-site meetings of mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev.

The municipality noted that during the raids, gross violations by drivers and individual employees of the BPATP municipal enterprise were revealed. In particular, until November 20, the number of transactions was about 170,000 per day; as a result of the raid, it increased to 300,000, which is about 3 million soms.

More than 20 drivers who embezzled money were fired. Measures will be taken against such drivers and managers, including filing an application to the relevant authorities for reimbursement of previously appropriated funds in accordance with the law.

«The raids bring good results. The work is planned to be carried out until effective results are achieved for the complete transition to non-cash payment system,» the City Hall stressed.

In addition, due to numerous violations, the managers of BPATP municipal enterprise were dismissed.
