President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matvienko. The press service of the head of state reported.
The parties exchanged views on a number of topical issues of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation, including the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.
The head of state noted that Kyrgyz-Russian relations have positive dynamics and cover almost all spheres of life. Relations between the two countries are strategic and allied in nature.
Sadyr Japarov stressed that with the personal support of Valentina Matvienko, parliamentary diplomacy has become an important channel of bilateral interaction. Constant contacts are maintained at the leadership level and at the level of deputies.
In turn, Valentina Matvienko stressed the interest of the Russian side in further expanding and deepening cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest, and noted the positive dynamics of increasing bilateral trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
In particular, the Chairwoman of the Federation Council mentioned great interest among Russian large companies that are ready for the mutually beneficial implementation of infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan.
Valentina Matvienko also expressed gratitude to the President Sadyr Japarov for supporting the Russian language in the country, emphasizing that, at the initiative of the leaders of the two countries, a successful project such as the construction of nine modern Kyrgyz-Russian schools will be implemented in Kyrgyzstan.
