At least 58 traffic accidents involving electric scooters were registered for nine months in Kyrgyzstan. The Minister of Internal Affairs Ulan Niyazbekov announced at a board meeting.
He noted that such traffic accidents become more and more frequent, but no attention is paid to this.
«No traffic accidents involving electric scooters were registered last year. This year there were 58 cases, as a result 58 people were injured. This mainly happens in Bishkek city and in Issyk-Kul region,» he said.
Earlier, member of Parliament Marlen Mamataliev initiated tightening of traffic rules for electric scooters.
If colleagues support Marlen Mamataliev’s initiative, then the Cabinet of Ministers should develop documents on issues of ensuring road safety, rules, standards, and technical norms.
