Four school directors detained for bribes in Bishkek for week

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) announced detention of four directors of various schools in Bishkek, suspected of receiving illegal funds.

As the press center of the department explained, one of the last detained on September 1 was a director of a school detained when taking 5,000 soms for a positive decision on the transfer of a child to her school. The SCNS noted that the detainee was placed on the same day in the temporary detention center of the special services.

The photo sent by the state committee shows that the detention took place in the office of the director of school No. 51 Gulnura Arziyeva.

SCNS recalled that, according to a presidential decree dated May 26, «illegal collection of funds and creation of public funds at schools are prohibited in state educational organizations, and the purchase of necessary goods and services for the activities of an educational institution is financed from the state budget of the Kyrgyz Republic.» In this regard, the SCNS called on school principals to abandon the practice of illegal fundraising, recalling the criminal liability for such acts.
