Number of migrants from Kyrgyzstan in Russia grows by 45 percent for six months

According to the results of the first half of the year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia registered a noticeable increase in the number of arriving citizens of Kyrgyzstan. The deputy head of the Department of Control and Supervision Service of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuri Konobeevsky told journalists.

He added that the Russian Federation is interested in the arrival of qualified specialists, and 57 percent of migrants from the Kyrgyz Republic came to work.

For the first six months of 2023, the flow of Kyrgyzstanis to Russia increased by 45 percent and reached 460,000 people, 57 percent of them came to work.

In addition, there is an increase of 11 percent of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who received a residence permit in the Russian Federation.

«Our country is interested in professional specialists in various fields,» the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

According to Yuri Konobeevsky, the number of facts of fictitious migration registration has decreased in recent years.

«The measures taken helped to reduce the facts of fictitious registration, including this applies to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. The number is decreasing,» he said.

The deputy head of the Control and Supervision Service Department noted that the actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation are aimed at preventing infringement of the rights of foreign citizens in matters of migration registration. In addition, according to him, some services are already provided in electronic format, their number will grow, all federal authorities are focused on this.
