The national sambo team of Kyrgyzstan won six medals on the second day of the World Championship. Press service of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The winners and medalists in 14 weight categories were determined. Sayak Barakanov and Bekten Erkebai won silver medals, Bekbolsun Kerimbekov and Kurmanbek Zamirbek uulu won bronze medals in combat sambo.
Akak Uson kyzy and Dinara Kamchybekova took the third places in sports sambo.
Thus, according to the results of the competitions, the national team has 13 medals — 1 gold, 3 silver and 9 bronze.
According to the results of first day of competitions, Bekbolot Toktogonov won a gold medal, and Miraida Medetbek kyzy won a silver medal among women. Five athletes won bronze medals.
The World Championship in combat and sports sambo was held at Gazprom to Children Sports and Recreation Complex in Cholpon-Ata from August 22 to August 23. Athletes from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, China, FIAS 1 (Russia), FIAS 2 (Belarus) and Israel participated in the competitions.
