The World Sambo Championship started in Issyk-Kul region. The press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The championship began in Cholpon-Ata city. According to the program of competitions, bouts among men in sports sambo in weight categories of 58, 64, 71, 79, 88, 98, 98 + kilograms and in combat sambo among women in weight categories of 59, 65 and 72 kilograms will take place today.
The competitions are held at Gazprom to Children sports and recreation complex. Athletes from 11 countries: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, China, FIAS 1 (Russia), FIAS 2 (Belarus) and Israel participate in the championship.
