U.S. President plans to hold summit with participation of Central Asian leaders

U.S. President plans to hold a summit with the participation of the heads of Central Asian countries. According to Uzdaily website, Joe Biden plans to hold the first summit in the C5+1 format and has sent relevant letters to the leaders of the region’s countries.

«I hope that on September 19 or September 20, you will be able to join me (...) for an official meeting in the C5+1 format to discuss how to further jointly advance our common goals in security, economy, and environmental protection,» Uzdaily quoted the text of the invitation.

The C5+1 is a regional diplomatic platform for U.S. authorities and the governments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Since 2015, the C5+1 platform has expanded U.S. — Central Asia dialogue and cooperation at the ministerial level, including expert meetings and thematic working groups. C5+1 working groups focus on economic, energy, environmental, and security issues.
