Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the heads of a number of large corporations in China. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
Akylbek Japarov met with the Chairman of the Board of the Xinjiang Trade and Logistics Corporation. The parties discussed a wide range of issues in the field of logistics, energy and trade. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that Kyrgyzstan is ready to act as a «window» for foreign investors to enter the markets of the EAEU countries, China, and the European Union.
«Kyrgyzstan has a GSP+ status with the European Union, thanks to which exporters will be able to supply more than 6,000 commodity items to the EU countries at zero tariff rates. In addition, we have a free trade zone with Uzbekistan and other countries,» Akylbek Japarov said.
The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers stressed that following the talks between the leaders of the two countries, an agreement was reached on opening the third Bedel checkpoint on the state border between Kyrgyzstan and China. Construction will begin in the coming years.
In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of building logistics centers and bonded zones in Kyrgyzstan.
Akylbek Japarov expressed his readiness to provide all possible support in the implementation of these projects, in particular, the provision of a land plot, as well as the preparation of the corresponding infrastructure there.
In turn, the Chairman of the Board of the Chinese company proposed a number of projects for further implementation, noting readiness to invest in the construction of hydroelectric power plants, logistics centers and other projects.
«We are ready to sign a memorandum of cooperation in all areas that you are interested in. There is no need to wait until construction of the road or railways is completed, we need to start implementation of the projects that are of mutual interest right now,» Akylbek Japarov concluded.
The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers also met with Zhang Xin, Chairman of the Board of TBEA. The parties discussed implementation of the projects planned following the talks between the Chairman and the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Communist Party of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Ma Xingrui on connecting the energy infrastructure for the supply of electricity, cooperation in the construction of Sary-Jaz cascade of hydropower plants and the draft memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and TBEA for the construction of a 500 kV Kemin-Torugart transmission line.
