Power engineers increase capacity of Glavnaya substation

The Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise is increasing the capacity at 220/110/10 kilovolt Glavnaya substation. Press service of the organization reported.

Last winter, due to the increase in electricity consumption, the load at this substation exceeded the nominal level. To improve the reliability and quality of power supply to consumers, Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise is increasing the capacity at its substations. Work on replacing the autotransformer with a more powerful one began at the high-voltage 220-110-10 kV Glavnaya substation. It is also planned to replace the second autotransformer.

«The personnel of the substation service are dismantling the old autotransformer and attachments, as well as rolling the autotransformer to the site for further removal. It should be noted that after the replacement of autotransformers, the total capacity of the substation will increase and reach 400 megavolt-amperes. This will provide reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the northern part of Bishkek, as well as some villages in Chui region,» the company said.

The high-voltage 220/110/10 kilovolt Glavnaya substation is located in Leninskoye village, Alamedinsky district. It was put into operation in 1968.
