Sadyr Japarov urges Kyrgyzstanis to protect nature

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov called on the people of Kyrgyzstan to order and protect the nature of the country. Press service of the President reported.

The head of state said this at a solemn ceremony honoring the country’s rescuers.

Speaking about the ecology of Issyk-Kul lake, he stressed that this year the divers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations had removed about 96,000 meters of poachers’ nets and cleared the lake of about 6 tons of garbage for four months. This work is still ongoing.

Sadyr Japarov, addressing the people of Kyrgyzstan, reminded of the moratorium on fishing and called to contribute to an increase in fish population.

He noted that nature is the unique wealth of Kyrgyzstan and the common wealth of mankind, which requires careful treatment. However, instead, people having a rest on the shore of the lake can leave garbage behind.

«We often turn to tourists visiting our country asking to protect the nature of Kyrgyzstan, but at the same time, we show the opposite by our example. I call on everyone to discipline each other, to teach order, showing respect for the environment without polluting it,» the President said.

Naming the tourism sector as one of the priority sectors of the country’s economy, he added that according to forecasts, 10 million tourists are expected to arrive in Kyrgyzstan this year.
