Increase in tuberculosis incidence registered in Kyrgyzstan

An increase in the incidence of tuberculosis is registered in Kyrgyzstan. The National Phthisiology Center provided such data.

According to it, after a sharp decrease in the number of newly diagnosed TB patients in 2020-2021, there is a slight increase in 2022. In total, 4,018 patients were detected (or 60 per 100,000 people), compared to 3,891 (58.1 per 100,000) in 2021 and 3,518 (53.5 per 100,000) in 2020.

The highest incidence rate, as before, is in Chui region, the lowest is in Issyk-Kul region.

The incidence rate among children has also increased — 14.7 per 100,000 children. In 2021, it was 10.8, in 2020 — 8.1. The rate has slightly decreased in adolescents from 37.3 per 100,000 people in 2021 to 31.5 in 2022.

The death rate has also decreased. In 2022, it was 2.6 per 100,000, or 127 people, while in 2021 it was 3.8 per 100,000, or 174 people.
