The parliamentary commission did not find any facts of the theft of gold at Kumtor. Arslanbek Maliev, its chairman, announced at a parliamentary session.
He noted that the commission came to the conclusion that during the extraction, sale, storage and transportation of gold, there was no theft and distortion of data on the volume, quality and price of the sold precious metal on the part of Kumtor Gold Company, Kyrgyzaltyn and the National Bank.
At the same time, Arslanbek Maliev dwelled on the violations committed by the former external manager of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC Tengiz Bolturuk.
«Tengiz Bolturuk received $480,600 as a reward while he was an interim manager. After being fired, he received an unreasonable remuneration of $403,100 from Kumtor Gold Company for his work at Heritage of Great Nomads Holding from February to August 2022. But the advance debt of $25,500 was not returned,» he said.
The former head of Kumtor Gold Company, Tengiz Bolturuk, in his appeal to Sadyr Japarov, asked for forgiveness for not meeting his expectations and failing to put an end to corruption at Kumtor. Earlier, his wife Ilmira Alpysbayeva also wrote that her husband was allegedly being tortured. Tengiz Bolturuk himself denied the statement of his wife.
Tengiz Bolturuk and Ryspek Toktogulov were dismissed from all the positions they held. It was reported that the Prosecutor General’s Office began a detailed check. It resulted in three criminal cases with preliminary damage to the state of 1 billion soms. As a result, the former external manager of Kumtor was detained and placed in the remand center of the State Committee for National Security until March 10, 2023. Tengiz Bolturuk himself does not admit his guilt. He stated that all the accusations were false. His lawyer says that the accused is ready to cooperate with the investigation.
