Five-year-old girl falls face down on scissors, operated on at Osh hospital

A five-year-old girl with scissors stuck in her cheek was operated on at the Osh Interregional Children’s Hospital. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The child was brought to the hospital by residents of Kara-Suu district. The girl was urgently hospitalized in the Department of Otolaryngology.

The child fell off the table at home with scissors in her hand. They stuck into the right cheek. Through the maxillary sinus and eye socket, the scissors stuck to the sinus bone located at the base of the skull.

«Fortunately for the child, the major arteries were not damaged. At present, the girl’s condition is good, she is being prepared for discharge from the hospital,» the ministry noted.

Umutbek Pazylov, head of the department, performed the complex surgery to remove the scissors.
