Kanybek Imanaliev to introduce Soviet and British teaching methods

Acting Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Kanybek Imanaliev will introduce British and Soviet teaching methods into the education system of Kyrgyzstan. He announced this at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on social policy.

According to Kanybek Imanaliev, the concept of reform of the education system will be ready within a month. It will consist of three components.

«We will take the good sides of Soviet pedagogy. Two models have been competing in the world in the last 200-300 years — the Prussian and British teaching models. The British system won. Finnish, Swedish, Estonian schools apply exactly this model. Kazakhstan has completely switched to this system. The third component is national,» said Kanybek Imanaliev.

He noted that computer courses would be introduced in schools.

«There is no need to allocate funds for the purchase of computers. We will use those purchased by the Central Election Commission for the elections. They are used only on election days, and then they stand idle. Let the Cabinet of Ministers issue a resolution on this issue,» Kanybek Imanaliev added.

He noted that the dignity of teachers should be protected like a border in Batken.

«Teachers have turned into an electorate that fills the halls when investors, akims, deputies and others come. The school should have only education policy. We must ban this legally. Teachers are also invited to the rallies. Lessons are interrupted. We are destroying the future of children,» said Kanybek Imanaliev.

The Acting Minister of Education noted that it was necessary to introduce new standards of education by September 1. According to him, there will be a new education program.

The Committee approved the candidacy of Kanybek Imanaliev for the post of head of the Ministry of Education.

Ex-deputy Kanybek Imanaliev sharply criticized the reforms of the head of state Sadyr Japarov. At one time, he supported neither amendments to the Constitution, nor a return to the presidential form of government and elections in single-mandate constituencies. He believed that this was not just a rollback, it would turn Kyrgyzstan into Turkmenistan.
