Kyrgyz teachers to work in schools built by Russia in Kyrgyzstan

The curriculum in nine schools built by Russia will be drawn up according to Russian and Kyrgyz standards of education. The Deputy Minister of Education Nadira Dzhusupbekova said at a meeting of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Parliament.

According to the agreement, Russian teachers will work in the schools, she said.

«Our teachers will also work there, as Russian teachers cannot teach all subjects. The Russian Federation is considering the issue of construction of dormitories at schools for teachers. The curriculum will be compiled according to Russian and our standards. All our subjects will also be included: the Kyrgyz language, literature, the history of Kyrgyzstan, pre-military youth training and others. Graduates will receive certificates of the two countries,» the official said.

Deputy Shailoobek Atazov noted that the educational program and curriculum of schools should be based on national ideology. His colleagues Aibek Osmonov and Mirgul Temiralieva proposed building more educational institutions in Batken rather than in the capital.

It should be noted that principals at the schools will be citizens of Russia, candidates for the position will be agreed with the Kyrgyz side. About 455 million rubles will be spent on the construction of educational institutions designed for 1,200 places.

The Committee supported the agreement with the Russian Federation on the construction of schools.

Earlier, the Parliament agreed to give the school in Bishkek to Gazprom Kyrgyzstan for 20 years for free use. During the consideration of the agreement, the Ministry of Education announced that in exchange Russia promised to build educational institutions in the regions.
