Universities with a special status have created a consortium in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
According to it, the agreement was signed by the rectors of the Kyrgyz National University, the Kyrgyz State Technical University, the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University, the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, the Osh State University. They also elected a Chairman and a Secretary of the general meeting of the organization.
«The consortium is being created to unite production, financial, scientific and technical resources, increase the competitiveness of universities at the international level,» the ministry said.
In July 2022, the President signed the decree on measures to increase the potential and competitiveness of educational institutions of higher professional education of the Kyrgyz Republic. The document grants a special status to five public higher education institutions. The decree grants these universities financial, organizational, and academic autonomy.
