Young professionals ask to ban pensioners from working in schools. It was announced during the live broadcast of the Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Ulanbek Mambetakunov.
According to the viewer, adult teachers do not give young people the opportunity to work.
«We do not have a law prohibiting teachers over 65 from being suspended from work. People over 70 cannot work as rectors in our country. Such a norm is spelled out in the Labor Code. In Naryn, indeed, there are many specialists in reserve, but in other regions, for example, in Batken, Osh and Jalal-Abad, on the contrary, there is a shortage of personnel. If we remove teachers older than 65 from work, then who will come to work instead of them? Will teachers from Naryn go there to work? No, they won’t come. Therefore, we are trying to find other methods to solve the problem,» the minister said.
The head of the Ministry of Education noted that the ministry was open to further discussions and proposals on the personnel issue.
